Unfortunately I was unable to do what I wanted with the sound cue editor. As a result I added the sound wave nodes as ‘simpleambientsounds’ ‘actors’ and then edited their properties. Attenuation is an effect the engine uses to make ambient sounds fade in and out as the player get closer / further away. I have chosen the ‘ATTENUATION_NaturalSound’ distance algorithm.
The only problem with this is that it only works radiologically and my first two areas are more or less square. As a result there are very small areas of the map which are not covered by the musical ambience. This is the reason I have made the radius’s so big, to reduce the circularity.
